Horde Siege
Gears of War E-Day Horde Siege — the 12-player PvE mode with Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic class builds, R.I.G. objectives and difficulties.
Introduction
The Horde Siege hub is your complete guide to E-Day's new 12-player PvE mode — the biggest co-op offering in Gears history. Three squads of four players fight together across interconnected districts of Kalona, completing R.I.G. objectives, surviving waves of the Locust Horde and extracting before the city collapses. Four classes define the experience — Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic — each with unique abilities and a class level that unlocks more power. Three difficulties (Infantry, Commander and Allfather) scale the challenge with your progression. This hub collects class builds, wave strategies, R.I.G. objective guides, difficulty breakdowns and squad tips for mastering the new co-op endgame.

Core Mechanics
Horde Siege places three squads of four (12 players total) on a shared map, fighting the Locust across interlocking objectives. Players choose one of four classes — Assault, Breacher, Marksman or Medic — each with a unique loadout and signature ability. The Medic's Stim Vaporizer heals and revives teammates even from other squads, making it the backbone of any group. Between waves you complete R.I.G. objectives like Secure, Calibrate, Repair and Defend, using the Resonation Imaging Geographer device that scans the districts. Class levels persist and gate higher difficulties — Infantry, Commander and Allfather — which scale enemy numbers, damage and boss waves.
Advantages
Horde Siege's 12-player format creates a unique Gears experience where coordination across three squads matters. The class system adds genuine build depth — a squad with a strong Medic, a Breacher frontline, an Assault flex and a Marksman has every role covered. The R.I.G. objectives break up pure wave combat and reward map knowledge. Difficulties scale with class level, so there is always a progression goal: level your classes, then push Commander and Allfather for the real challenge. The 12-player format creates a unique cooperative experience where three squads must coordinate across a shared map, and the class system adds genuine build depth — a balanced squad with a Medic, a Breacher, an Assault and a Marksman has every role covered. The R.I.G. objectives break up wave combat and reward map knowledge, and the three difficulties scale with class level so there is always a progression goal to chase.
Challenges
Horde Siege requires communication. A squad without a Medic will struggle to sustain through waves, and the Allfather difficulty punishes any class that is under-leveled or out of position. The 12-player scale means one weak squad can drag the whole run — coordination across squads is mandatory at higher difficulties. Energy and supply-cache economy also need management; wasting resources on the wrong objectives leaves you under-prepared for boss waves. Horde Siege demands communication, and a squad without a Medic will bleed out across the waves. The Allfather difficulty punishes any under-leveled class or out-of-position player, and because 12 players share the map, one weak squad can drag the entire run down. Managing energy and supply caches is also essential — spending resources on the wrong objective leaves you under-prepared for the boss wave.

Quick Tips
Always run at least one Medic per squad — the Stim Vaporizer's cross-squad revive is the single strongest tool in 12-player Horde Siege.
Complete R.I.G. objectives between waves to bank energy and supplies; skipping them leaves you under-resourced for the boss wave.
Level every class a little — different maps and squads favor different builds, and a flexible player is more valuable than a one-trick.
